Back from Hiatus

God Bless my sister!!! She's been away since Thursday night on vacation with her DH. That left me as DD or Designated Daughter to our 85 yro Mom. Mom's a kick but a handful at the same time and I TG all the time for my DS, Dear Sister, who takes the brunt of the hauling about since she has a car. Mom has a car as well but because of the arthritis in her right knee we don't like her driving any farther than around her local area. Thusly I became the Designated Driving Daughter for the weekend. It wasn't bad but was time consuming and now I'm off to play today with my faux food toys.
Hopefully I'll finally have something finished that I want to show off later today. Have a productive day everyone...that's what I'm wishing for myself as well. Just wish I'd gotten more than four hours sleep! :o

BTW...here is a new piece I did yesterday. She's from the Dipsy Diva series!

ULTIMATE RECYCLE

From tiny acorns, giant oaks grow and my idea for starting a how-to is beginning to evolve into the Go Green-Ultimate Recycle project. There are those of you out there who really don't have the money to purchase craft supplies to start living your dream. In the spirit of going green and recycling all of the extras I've collected and hoarded over the years, I'm inviting anyone with a NEED to post what they are looking for in the comment section below.

If I find it in my studio I'll be happy to send it along to you. And if you've got something that you'd like to move forward, just post it in the comments below as well. Most of us have more than we'll ever use...I know I do so I'll be more than happy to pass it along. Great way to clean house and a better way to go green and recycle!

How-To

How to live life to the fullest. That sounds like a good blog posting for today. I am finding myself renewed tho' still exhausted. I'll have the results tomorrow of the gazillion blood tests that my primary ordered on Tuesday. Barring any bad results that need attention, I'll be starting some special how-to dos on this blog.

My Dad always said that anyone who had an idea but wouldn't share it, had only one really good idea. I think he may be right about that and in the spirit of how he lived his life (he would have been 86, yesterday)I want to start posting articles about how to do all sorts of things.

I've been so blessed much of my life, but never really stopped to enjoy those blessings. Now I want to share my ideas and the how-tos that I've learned over the last, dare I say it...60 years! I'm also opening up this blog to all of you who may have wanted to know how to do something but could never find the correct instructions for doing it. If I know, I'll post it. If I don't know, I'll reach out to someone who I think might know. That way, this will be a blog with a purpose. Not just a posting of every passing day.

So if you want to know something, or if you know something you want to share, PLEASE post your comments. I think that together we might make a difference, even if only a small one, in someone's life!

God loves YOU, and so do I!

BLESSINGS and Pink Ribbons!!!

I recently added someone new to my life. A buyer of my art who shared her dream of one day being able to paint herself. When I responded to her I said in part... "I've learned since breast cancer that tomorrow is never a promise and today is the day to make dreams come true...so go for it and enjoy"!

She has read my blog and my about me page and my world pages on eBay. By reading them she said that she could see how even through adversity one can find happiness. And she's going to start painting! And that my friends is the greatest blessing of all. Being a light in the darkness of someone's life and giving hope when one is feeling hopeless.

Perhaps this month I'll share my story of breast cancer. Since October is the official Pink Ribbons month it may be time to do just that. For now I'm off to bed with a prayer that tonight I'll get the sleep I've been longing for. God Bless!

Faux Cupcakes and CATS!!!

Here's the stuff of which legends will be made:

I got the papers, doilies and ballerinas at the 1.00 Power Store. What used to be the 99 cent store until they decided that they needed to make more money and started charging up to 12.99 for what used to sell for a buck. *Sigh* fortunately or unfortunately, the cost of chocolate is still only $1.25 for a BIG bag of Dove or Hershey's Dark Chocolate Truffles. Ouch! My thighs are growing just thinking about it!

Oh and look who snuck in here to see what was going on with Mommy...my favorite furry baby boy, Sebastian.

Anyhoo..I'm planning on trying to make a few faux today. Then I want to photograph them in a vignette setting and we'll see where that goes. I'm still trying to firm up an answer to the question my DH asked days ago. I'm getting closer but still no definitive answer at this time. What will the wild gypsy still be doing in five years??? Stay tuned!
