The countdown is on!
Just 16 days left until the wedding. The pressure is on with the whole family. Dieting has reached a feverish pace as everyone tries to lost those last 5 lbs. they've been sporting for years. Why do we drive ourselves to perfection for a wedding? Why can't we just show up in flip flops and flowered shirts and get them hitched? Instead we spends thousands of dollars, squeeZe ourselves into girdles and cummerbunds to look good for people we probably won't see again for years. I'm not stressed out...no, not me. I'm releasing all of my tensions by playing on Polyvore. I wanted to let you have a mini experience of the site so I've uploaded a wee taste for y'all to play with. Enjoy styling!

HOLY SMOKES
I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted....holy crap! I apologize to anyone who was really interested in seeing what I was up to but this past fall has had me all over the map...emotionally AND creatively. When I last posted, my sister and I had planned to start crafting together again. That didn't work out but the fault is all my own...I wandered off into a different venue and never returned.
In the last four months I've returned to selling on eBay. This time with adorable pendants that seem to have become quite popular. So popular in fact I can now go grocery shopping every week :) One of my NY resolutions was to start blogging on a regular basis. So I'll be back...and sooner than four months...with some interesting ideas for giveaways and other goodies. I've also started selling on a number of different sites so to say that I've got a bit of catching up to do is an understatement. If you want to see what I'm doing in the meanwhile...click on the title of this post and it will take you to my eBay.

Mission Accomplished
It took several months to figure out how to do it, 30 days to do the first 30 pieces and 60 minutes to upload just two auctions to Etsy but I feel empowered today! I made a major change in my creative direction, set the start date and accomplished my mission. It doesn't get better than that.
These pieces were all made using recycled plastic archival inks and dyes and sketches from my journals that go back to the mid-70's. I am LOVING this new medium and I hope it shows!
You can get to Etsy by clicking on the photo above. I'll continue adding more and more pendants daily. I hope you enjoy them and please...feel free to buy a bunch to spice up your spring wardrobe!

Happy New Year!
And in that same spiritual vein I want to offer up thanks for the blessings that have occured in my life over the last few weeks. We've been able to find new health insurance and have reduced our monthly costs from a killer $1808.77 down to an almost manageable $768.00. And today we got a call finalizing the re-instatement of our mortgage so now I will have a roof over my head when our own New Year's celebration takes place.
God is good and works in His own time. Unfortunately for us we are usually running on a different timetable. However, faith will always see you through. My favorite verse says it all: Matthew 21:22 "If you believe, you will receive, whatever you ask for in prayer".(NIV)
Today was spent working on my dessert jewelry. The cupcake and ice cream cone earrings are coming along nicely and I should have a few pair to post by the weekend. I've also got a few ready to be made up as pendants. Close friends are the only ones who will remember that I used to be a free-lance designer with Polyform Products, the makers of Premo polymer clay. Up until my breast cancer surgery in '04 that was the only outlet for my creativity. I put it aside because I was concerned with the fumes from the baking and the possibility of ingesting the pvc from the clay itself. But I find that there is no better modeling material to perfect these earring designs so I went back to the clay and have been happily sculpting all kinds of yummy creations in miniature.
I haven't yet started to color them but I'm thinking that the watercolor technique I've perfected for non-porous surfaces should work well with these. I can't think of any other way to get the strawberry cones to look edible and not plastic. I'll post by the end of the week and let y'all be the judge.
