See, this is the kind of stuff I've had to put up with all day. I'm such a chocoholic it's been almost painful, have you ever seen anything more delicious looking...maybe I just need a chocolate fix :)

CUPCAKES!
Who knew cupcakes were so popular? I started out looking for instructions on how to make faux cupcakes and spent at least a half day looking at the most delicious looking faux foods as well as CUPCAKES.
Seems that while I was busy painting ACEOs the world has gone cupcake crazy. I never saw such a long list of bakeries specializing in the tiny little cakes I remember from my childhood. Let me correct this...these cupcakes were the kind that I dreamed about when I was a child. Gorgeous, artistic little cakes that have made my mouth water even tho' I knew that half the ones I was looking at were probably made out of some product found at Home Depot!!
I uploaded five new Halloween ACEOs I've painted over the last two days. You can see my initial paintings in one of my postings below and then today I painted two pastel colored ghosties. Here are Lonnie and Lou, the latest postings to eBay and starting at just 99 cents each. Am I crazy...guess so but I've got to generate some interest in my work. After all, didn't DH tell me to start a 5 year plan. Maybe I should just do cupcakes :)
OK...so it's time to head off to settle down for the evening. Think I'll dig out some cupcake recipes. Nighty Nite from Jersey.

Of course, it's a dodge from answering a question I don't know how to answer. Last night DH listened to me as I moaned about how hard it was to make money on eBay and Etsy and then he said something so profound I wanted to hit him really, really HARD!
"Well, I think your problem is you still haven't asked yourself the question of where you want to be five years from now. You don't have a goal. No goal, no plan. No plan, no progress toward your goal". WOW! Why didn't I think of that?
Five years???...I should have asked myself that question 38 years ago when he asked me to marry him! I might have had a better answer then. Right now I'm stalled because I really DON'T know what I want to be doing in five years, other than being a Granny which may or may not ever happen given my daughter's predilection for dating hotties who are nottie good for her :).
Anyway...getting back to those faux cupcakes I found a lot of info on how to make them but I certainly don't want to go into mass production. I thought that I'd make a half dozen or so and then photograph them. And then do a paint over? Oh hell, I don't know anymore what I want to do or where I want to be other than at this very moment, sitting down to dinner. I'm hungry!! Too much wandering amoungst the fauxs to fix the food that will fill me up. So for now I'm off to find something to slap on the table in front of DH...where does he want to be in five years? In the kitchen cooking, I hope!

Bland Blind Date
DD just called from the ladies room of the restaurant where she went on her blind date...50 minutes into it! Oh well, hottie or nottie he failed her own personal test and didn't buy the first round of drinks. If her wallet comes out during the initial date there isn't a second one! This is the shortest date on record, however. Her friend "Boo" is coming to bail her out.
Got so excited about her blind date I forgot to post the latest ACEOs that go up on eBay tomorrow. Here they are:
This will probably be the last week for Halloween goodies. Next week I'll start listing some Christmas pieces.
Gallery Show 11.14.08
My daughter has a blind date tonight. After several failed relationships with 'hot' guys she decided to allow a friend to 'fix her up' with his friend. So unlike her but I guess she's tired of the 'hotties' only interested in her body, not her mind. This is one of my favorite 'photos' of her. It was done with a 'toy' camera and then manipulated quickly in Photoshop with a simplify filter.
Fired up the wood stove for the first time this season. We don't have a working heating system so depend on it for our winter warmth. NJ is usually bearable during the cold months but unbearable in the summer. Very hard to runaway from the heat but during the winter I can always escape to the unheated rooms to cool down.
Off to work on some sketches for the show. Happy weekend all.
