I've decided to concentrate on etsy.com for my limited edition print sales.
eBay is great for larger pieces but for the prints it's worth the price of admission to list on etsy.com If you want to find me search: seller names: wildgypsyart

Bad Day turns Good
Bad night sleeping because of thunderstorms in area. Woke up so many times I lost count. When I was finally awake, DH hands me two shut off notices. One for the natural gas and one for the electric. FOR MONDAY, no less. Like he couldn't have told me when they first came in???
I know we won't be able to pay them so I call to negotiate. Did you know that the gas and electric companies are loath to negotiate but are more than willing to give you numbers of agencies to contact that MAY help. Hours later I've been able to get an appointment with a local agency that helps MIDDLE CLASS families who are unable to meet their energy needs. Alllllright!!! Tomorrow I will have to go in and actually see the people with DH but it looks like temporary help is here.
Now if someone in the govenment would just get a national healthcare program going I could save the $1807.77 + $200 for meds each month. It's wringing us dry and we're in over our head financially...BUT just when I was feeling sad and down I checked my inbox and saw that I'd sold FOUR of my ACEO limited edition prints on eBay.
Yeah, I know the $32 isn't a lot in some folks books, but it means I can go get eggs, milk and bread this week. And that my friends is GOOD NEWS!!!

http://www.artandcraftauctions.com
I can't budget the present eBay fees so I've moved all of my CRAFT SUPPLY auctions to my wild gypsy user id on http://www.artandcraftauctions.com/
I've got only craft supplies on sale there as I'll be keeping my art on eBay and Etsy for the present. Craft supplies sell on AACA but it hasn't been discovered by true art lovers. eBay still has the hold on that market.
At least the fees are lower on AACA and I'm posting the auction move news to everywhere I can think of since I'm the breadwinner in this family at the moment.
So...got a special craft or art you like to practice but can't find what you need since it's been either discontinued or in short supply? I just might have it here:
http://www.artandcraftauctions.com/other_items.php?owner_id=100001
Check it out everyone and feel free to buy...PLEASE!!!

A dragonfly day~~~~~~~~~
What an amazing gift I had today. The arrival of a golden dragonfly to my 'pond'. The blue ones have become friendly enough to play games with me. I take a garden hose and water the plants around the sides of my pool and they come and 'ride the waves'; flying into the stream and riding it down and out. Simply an amazing thing to watch.
The neighbor's complained because we let the pool 'naturalize' which means the pump broke and it became stagnant with frogs and dragonflies all around. The township issued a warning to get it back to its pristine sparkling aqua. Bah Humbug!! We live in the country for heaven's sakes. Just because the neighbors didn't want to look at a brown pool we have to comply. I mentioned to an ecobiologist or whatever he was and he said that dragonflies will ONLY come to an environment that is in eco-balance. Damn neighbors, now I have to lose my beautiful winged friends by filling the darn thing with chlorine! The frogs were eating the mosquitoes for crying out loud.
Society...poop on all of them. They can't stand square pegs! Especially the round pegs who sit on their deck next door and look at my pond. Ivy dripping over the edges, wildflowers all around with frogs and dragonflies and now...back to being Ms. Dudley DoRight. Crap!!!
I got 'em back without their knowing it, however. I found a couple of tomato worms on my garden plants; you know the big fat lime green cutter ones. I pulled 'em off the plants and heave hoed them over the fence into their tomato plant patch! LOL, the worms should only eat the dickens out of their beautiful manicured bushes...mahwahahahahahahaha...who know the evil that lurks in the heart of a square peg...I does :)

Fear of the unknown reason for killing?
A strange train of thought just occurred to me. Do we as humans kill what we fear. We don't recognize, what we don't 'know'?
Ask anyone in my family what is the one thing you can count on if find a bug trapped in my home; car; doctor's office? To a person they will tell you that I immediately rescue it and return it to the environment from whence it came. So moths, lighting bugs, beetles and the like are captured in my hand and let loose out a window or door. When it comes to stingy things or spiders, a cup and 3x5 card is used to trap it and return it to the wild.
When a line of ants marches across my counter to munch on a spill it is heart wrenching for me to have to kill them and usually I'll leave them unless the line becomes a swarm. Friendly spiders are left to live in corners and in winter I've been known to leave the little line of ants snaking along the edges of the bathroom sink to eat the soap scum from the dish. To this point I've either proven that I'm a nature freak, a housekeeping slob, or truly what I am...someone who respects life in all its various forms.
Today, however, I became a warrior intent on killing a strange looking bug I had never seen before. A beetle like creature that could flap its wings and fly up off the floor enough to elude me for a few minutes. I didn't think of running for a cup, or God Forbid!, cup it in my hand for release back into the wild. I was bent on its destruction! I had never seen anything like it. Was it a young cockroach (ick!) come home in a grocery bag? A stinging bug as of yet unidentified along the coast of Jersey? Or just some nasty invader I didn't know who deserved to 'bite the dust'.
In very un-Carolynlike manner I became the huntress. Chasing it around the room I cornered this unsuspecting innocent and stomped on it with my pink plastic Crocs until I heard a 'pop!' and knew I was victorious in the hunt. In that moment a wave of enlightenment surrounded me. Do we, as humans, sentence to death those whom we don't know or understand just for that reason alone? Are the wars we fight in the name of 'freedom' really from our fear of the unknown? Do we feel justified in wiping out a people because we don't understand them or their ideologies are so foreign to use we feel justified to 'stomp' the life out of a civilization we perceive to be 'evil doers'?
I can't explain the feeling that swept over me when I looked down at the crushed and broken body of that bug. It was so unlike me to have done that but I realized it happened because I was fueled by my fear of the unknown. The sadness of that moment was one I wanted to share. To give all who read this pause; to think of their own reactions to what is unknown or not understood.
For me the reason is clear. It was repugnance of something that I had never seen before and had no inclination of getting to know before I chose to obliterate it in one stomp of a pink plastic Croc.
